The Project

About Clean Air Solar Farm

Clean Air Solar Farm is a proposed development by renewable energy specialists and joint partners, PS Renewables and Perigus Energy. The development is an evolution of plans previously shared as Kingfisher Solar Farm.

The indicative plans for Clean Air Solar Farm are based on land that has been identified as suitable for a solar farm in The East Riding of Yorkshire. The project includes plans to build the necessary infrastructure to transfer this energy to the national electricity grid.

The project is across two main land parcels.

The northern parcel is approximately three miles north of the town of Beverley, to the east of the A164. Plans for this land were presented at a consultation in February 2025 as ‘Kingfisher Solar Farm’.

The southern parcel is located in close proximity to the grid connection point, southwest of the A1079. The indicative site map can be viewed here.

The project commitment

The Clean Air Solar Farm team is committed to supporting local needs and making a long-term, positive impact in the area, including through a programme of community benefits and acting responsibly throughout the planning process, with clear and meaningful consultation.

Plans to protect and enhance the local environment, including creating natural habitats, preserving local heritage and increasing biodiversity will be an essential part of the proposals for Clean Air Solar Farm.

Why we changed the project name

We acknowledge that there have been significant changes in this project since we first introduced Kingfisher Solar Farm, with an evolved site boundary and new partner PS Renewables. Our new name reflects this fresh start and new partnership, as well as our commitment to a more sustainable future.

How Clean Air Solar Farm would work

Clean Air Solar Farm will use ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to generate electricity from the sun.

We are also including a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on site in order to optimise the benefit of the renewable energy generation in this location.
